Hailing from the noble family Sunsphere, a family of paladins and priests, Alnarin Sunsphere was raised in Eversong forest before the fall of the Sunwell. When Alnarin came of age for his profession to be chosen, he was made priest due to his aptitude for the magic arts and his lack of physical ability. The Sunsphere family looked down on this as pitiful as the males of the family were paladins and the females priests.
Alnarin suffered criticism for many years. After the Sunwell fell, the Sunspheres quickly married Alnarin off to the rogue daughter of the Shadowstar family, a family of magisters and arcanists. This action was to bind the families together and combine their might after the heavy losses due to Prince Arthas' attack on Silvermoon. Alnarin and Zaria were resentful to each other at first but quickly grew to love one another despite all their bickering.
During his years of ridicule, Alnarin trained his body and mind as much as he could to prove to his family that he could be a man. Taking up the art of shadow was only one more way to prove that priests could be men too. Though Alnarin was growing fond of the shadow disciplines, he was forced to abandon the dark powers in favor of the light.
Alnarin's wife Zaria came down with a terrible illness that almost claimed her life and in his desperation to save her, dropped all he had learned in the art of shadow so that the light may favor him instead. With his new focus on holy magics, Alnarin was able to save Zaria. After that event he never turned back to shadow so he might be prepared in case such an event were to occur again.
To those that know him fully, Alnarin is cocky and rude, playfully mocking people to pass his time. At first glance however, he is polite, kind, and caring, putting his best foot forward to mask his more rude nature. Alnarin is a neat freak who likes to have things in their proper place and whose clothes are always in neat and clean order. He also has a love of sewing and picked up the tailor trade as a hobby.
Alnarin's goal is to provide a life for him and his wife, the only person he truly cares about.
