When grouped in raids or instances each class has a specific role to play contributing to the success of the whole group.
There are certain things common no matter what role you are filling in the group. The group leader should mark the kill order with symbols. I usually mark with skull as the first target. The X as the second target to move to after the skull is dead. there are other symbols that are used for crowd control (CC). I usually use the moon to mark when a mage should sheep an enemy and the star for a rogue to sap. Do not hit the crowd controlled mobs please.
Only one person should pull the mobs. It is usually the tank so they can get the aggro. Give the tank a couple seconds to let the mobs move to there group before you attack so they can build aggro better.
We have a lot of tanks that are paladins. Pally tanks are great for holding group aggro by use of consecration (the ground area of effect). It is best if you allow the mobs to get into the consecration before attacking so the paladin can take the aggro.
The tank should lead the way being the first forward in the instance in case of patrols or hidden mobs. Everyone else, especially the healer and cloth wearers should stay behind the tank.
